Hollywood nightclub where the actress and singer was partying with her Sucker Punch cast members.
Vanessa did however looked stunning in her sheer Courtney Love-inspired frock, which she paired with a matching cream cardigan.
The dress which she accentuated with a sheer black sock and stiletto combination showed off her toned and tanned legs.
She finished off the grungy look with her swipe of bright lipstick, messy bed hair and a studded clutch.
Hudgens smiled and posed on the red-carpet along with Sucker Punch co-star Jaime Chung who also looked hot in a school-girl inspired leather mini dress.
They were also joined by the film's stars Abbie Cornish and Emily Browning.
Cornish looked sophisticated in a simple little black dress with matching heels and bold gold jewellery.
While Browning went for a more girlie look in a grey and white bouclé strapless frock which she paired with black tights and platform pumps.
Also letting her hair down with the cool crowd was The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards.
But the 42-year-old stood out in her odd combination of an embellished jacket, sheer pussy-bow shirt and a pair of jeans.
More demure was actress Brittany Snow who flaunted her bare legs in a mini cream taffeta dress.
The 25-year-old wore her hair in a pretty side plait to compliment the look.
Hudgens night out came after the High School Musical star attended the premiere of her new film the night before.
Dazzling in a backless Jenny Packham dress she attended the Hollywood event held at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.
Earlier that day, she also appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres show where she quashed rumours of romance with her Journey 2 co-star Josh Hutcherson.
Hudgens, who split from her High School Musical boyfriend Zac Efron in December, had been spending time with Hutcherson earlier this month.
The actress was seen jumping onto the back of the 18-year-old's actors motorcycle and by the looks of things appeared to be enjoying the ride.
'Can’t a girl have friends?' Vanessa said to Ellen when she asked if there was any truth in the rumours.
'Aww, I love him,' she added. 'We just did a movie together and we had the best time.'
Sucker Punch also stars Browning, Cornish, Jena Malone and Chung.

maillot
A maillot is a woman's one-piece swimwear usually cut high on legs. A maillot swimsuit generally consists of a tank-style top with high-cut legs. However, a maillot may also include a deep neckline, turtleneck-style top, or revealing cutouts.
The term maillot was incorporated into the English dictionary in 1928 and is derived from the French phrase for wrap around clothes. In the French language, the word maillot means "shirt". In addition to describing women's one-piece swimsuits, the word maillot has also been used to refer to tights or leotards made of stretchable, jersey like fabric, generally used in ballet dance or gymnastics.
History:
The term maillot was first used to describe tight-fitting, one-piece swimsuits in the 1920s, as these swimsuits had been manufactured from a stretchable fabric. Because the maillot is often more modest than the bikini, it is a favorite swimsuit choice of mature women. The maillot has held an important place throughout the history of swimsuits.
It was one of the first swimsuit designs which were very revealing yet had social acceptability. When spandex fabric was invented in the year 1960, fashion designers used this fabric for making maillot style of swimsuit to create the first type of tight-fitting swimsuit that is now so common.
At present, one-piece swimsuits have almost entirely replace maillots. The term one-piece swimsuit is now often used to show the differentiation between various types of one-piece swimsuits, including the tank and pretzel maillots.
