According to the dictionary meaning, bikini is a two piece swimsuit that women usually wear for swimming and for sun-bathing at the beach. This beachwear reveals significant portions of a women's body like her midriff, back, and thighs. At present, bikini is considered the most revealing swimsuit for women.
History:
The modern swim-wear bikini was invented by a Paris based engineer Louis Reard in 1946. The name bikini was given after the name Bikini Atoll, which was the name of a nuclear weapons testing site situated in the Marshall Islands. The logic behind it was that this revolutionary apparel would create an excitement like an atomic bomb. That thinking is still proving right, even after so many years of the invention of bikini.
